Operabyrån will perform the newly written opera, Ingjutet i mitt hjärta (Etched in My Heart) – premiered at Musikaliska in Stockholm on the 9th of January – together with the Gothenburg-based Utomjordiska’s premiere of Witch, Bitch, Temptress, Feminist at Röda Sten Konsthall in Gothenburg. Both days with be concluded with an in conversation discussion entitled Baroque Women: Yesterday and Today. The audience will be treated to music by Antonia Bembo, Anne Boleyn, Francesca Caccini, Maddalena Casulana and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre.
This newly written opera focuses on the forgotten composer Antonia Bembo’s (1640-1720). Her music and life story are at the core of the performance. Bembo’s music is woven together with Mattias Petersson’s newly composed music for electronic and baroque instruments along with music by Elisabeth Jaquet de la Guerre. Libretto: Emma Broström. Director: Helena Röhr. Featuring: Catalina Langborn, Christina Larsson Malmberg, Martin Vanberg, Jonas Nordberg and Kate Hearne. Bente Rolandsdotter is responsible for the design of the room and the costumes.
A concert that scenically portrays the contemporary theme of internet trolling directed toward women. This is juxtaposed with artistic expression of the Baroque period created by an oppressed group: female composers. Featuring: Amanda Flodin, Per T Buhre, Elisabeth Holmertz, Dohyo Sol, Ingrid Andersson, Johannes Lundberg, Harald Svensson, Michele Collins and Siri Landgren.
