Ghost Ship and the Sea Change

Join us on September 4 for the opening of the eleventh edition of Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art!

The biennial, entitled The Ghost Ship and the Sea Change is hosted by Konsthallen Blå Stället, Göteborgs Konsthall, Franska Tomten, Museum of World Culture, the Garden Society of Gothenburg, Röda Sten Konsthall, in public space and online/offsite.


Titled The Ghost Ship and the Sea Change, this edition of the biennial is curated by Lisa Rosendahl. The first part of the biennial opened in June 2021 at Röda Sten Konsthall and Franska Tomten to coincide with the 400th anniversary of the founding of the city of Gothenburg. For the September opening, these initial installations are transformed through the addition of several more artworks, and four further exhibition sites in the city are added.
