Christoffer Rutström performs the slideshow Walk, a series of images which follows a person walking on a forest road. In the background is a wooden landscape in muted colours. The large number of pictures form a single cohesive image of a walk. Building upon a sense of boredom of the act and repetitive nature of the images the work offers little to no conventional excitement.
The duration of the piece goes against the quick and striking image; a standard set by media and the advertising industry. A standard perpetuated by social media’s economy of attention seeking, which currently has a strangle hold on our ever-decreasing attention span.
